Welcome to the newest version of Darker Dungeon! A lot of blood and tears went into the creation of this site and I hope that it functions better than the last. All of this was done in effort to increase the longevity of the community and I figured it best to go ahead and get it out of the way now while the community is still small and more manageable.
Something to keep in mind that this is still a work in progress as I have not polished every single feature yet. Some things may be broken or missing. Especially in the media section. I did mention there were tears. That should hopefully be resolved and back to where it used to be in the next couple of days.
Hope you all enjoy the site. Let me know if there’s anything I can do to further improve on things. I’m here for you all.
Bells and Whistles
- Something worth noting is now the forums and main site are integrated into one entity. When a new update on the game comes out, users will now be able to comment on the posts which are then mirrored to the forums and vice versa. The catch on this is that the forum software is an entirely different platform than the previous one. I’ve managed to import almost all data from the old forums and all the old threads and posts are there. To start, first try logging in with your old credentials on this site. Should that fail, try resetting your password for that account through WordPress. If that doesn’t work, you will have to register a new account. Some users are already fine, most aren’t. If you encounter any problems, I’ll have a thread in the forums where you can post under your new account to let me know and I’ll be able to manually merge you. I wish it was easier than this, but it should be mostly painless.
- Should you already have a WordPress account and do not wish to make another one, let me know and I will merge your old forums account with your current WordPress account. NOTE: I will leave the old forums up for some time, so if you want to grab your old avatar or whatever else from your account, you will be able to do so.
- The Media page received a great update where it can actually use the entire browser window when viewing new images and other content. Also looks nicer.
- There were also A LOT of back end improvements made that I overlooked in the initial creation of the site way back earlier this year. Should provide a much more seamless experience.
